Government Acquisitions

The NSW Government can at times acquire land either by negotiation or by compulsory acquisition if required. New infrastructure projects across the NSW state have initiated this process with numerous home owners.

Offers for compensation to owners includes a range of items including market value for the property, removalist and re-establishment expenses, stamp duty on a new purchase, legal and valuation costs as well as “solatium” being an additional fixed sum payable by the NSW Government for the overall inconvenience in these circumstances.

The principals of compensation are established in the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act. 1991. The Clisdell’s are experienced with the Government Acquisition mechanism and can streamline the process as well as represent negotiations on your behalf.
